FAQ

Q: Do your clients make art in every session?

A: Whether or not you make art is 100% up to you! Some of my clients never make art and prefer to talk. Others find a tremendous amount of value in art therapy and enjoy working with art materials in every session.

I am highly trained in both traditional "talk" therapy and art therapy. The choice is yours!

Q: I don't like to draw do I have to?

A: Of course not! Art therapy is not about making pretty pictures. It's about the process of working with art materials and making art. It really is amazing! When engaging in art therapy you are giving yourself the precious gift of taking the time to deeply think about an issue while engaging different part of your brain. Often the answer is inside us, but we are unable to access it solely through logical thinking and talking.

Plus, during art therapy an infinite possibility of art materials are available to work with. Some of my clients prefer painting, working with clay, photography, clipping magazines for collages, making jewelry, and so on.

Q: Are the art supplies included in the cost?

A: Absolutely! Sometimes my clients make sculptures with clay or make glass beads or pendants that require firing in a kiln. Even the kiln firing is included in the cost.

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: At this time most major insurance companies do not cover art therapy. However, I do accept Staywell Medicaid.

Q: Do you take credit cards?

A: Yes, I will even send you a receipt via your email if you like.

Q: Where are your locations?

A: I have two locations in the Tampa area. In South Tampa, Hyde Park at 611 W. Bay St., Suite 1B Tampa, FL and also in Central Tampa, Seminole Heights at 6811 N. Central Ave. Tampa, FL.
